Britain’s Got Talent has been abruptly removed from the ITV schedule in a surprising shake-up. The popular Saturday night entertainment show will not be broadcast, and instead, ITV1 will air a film.
The talent contest, hosted by Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly and judged by Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and Amanda Holden, has been dropped from the Saturday, May 11 schedule. Instead, viewers can tune into the James Bond film Casino Royale on ITV1.
In a scheduling twist, Britain’s Got Talent will now be broadcast at 7.40pm on Sunday, May 12 on ITV1.
ITV has yet to reveal why it has altered the usual broadcast time for Britain’s Got Talent. However, the Eurovision Song Contest is set to air on BBC One from 8pm on that Saturday.
Fans of Britain’s Got Talent can still catch the show as normal on Saturday, May 5 at 7.30pm before it moves to Sunday the following week, reports Wales Online.
Despite being early in the series, many judges, including Simon, have already used their golden buzzer to send acts straight through to the live semi-finals.
Simon was so taken with a dance performance that he found himself pressing the golden buzzer.
Clad in vibrant red and silver outfits is Cyberagent Legit, a dance group hailing from Japan, whose members have been dancing in unison since they were four.
On their choice to participate in the show, the group disclosed: “We love Simon! That is why we are here… this is the biggest audition for us.
Our dream is to perform around the world, if we won it would be amazing.”
Following their spectacular performance that left both the audience and judges awestruck, Amanda Holden exclaimed how it was “unbelievable” whereas Simon observed: “Amazing! That was fantastic, that was my favourite act of the day actually. Really, really, really good.”
Britain’s Got Talent airs tomorrow evening on ITV and ITVX.
