Rodri is set to return to training on Wednesday as per the information of a new report from Simon Bajkowski. That is great news for the world champions ahead of the opening weekend of the 24/25 Premier League season.
Simon Bajkowski has reported for Manchester Evening News that City’s English trio have all returned to training. The trio were all given an extended summer break after their involvement in England’s European Championship campaign. Gareth Southgate’s side would lose the final 2-1 to Spain with all three players having played a key role for England at the tournament. The return of the trio to training is good news for Manchester City. Pep Guardiola’s side will face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Sunday. The hope is now that City’s English trio can play a part in Sunday’s match.
Bajkowski has also reported that Rodri is set to rejoin his teammates at training on Wednesday. City’s midfield general has been given the biggest break of all of Manchester City’s players who took in the busy summer of internationals. The midfielder has also been dealing with an injury he suffered during the final of Euro 24. Rodri was taken off at halftime of the final against England. It remains to be seen if he will be declared fit Sunday’s game at Stamford Bridge. But it is highly unlikely that Pep Guardiola will take any risks with the fitness of his team’s most important player.
The champions are now approaching full strength ahead of the new season. That is positive news for the club with the new season set to begin this weekend.
