Manchester City coaching staff will no doubt have been left impressed by the initial form and figures showcased by Jack Grealish upon his return to training.
The England international has returned to Manchester City training in the last few days ahead of a vital pre-season for himself, as he looks to rebuild confidence and form ahead of the start of the brand new competitive season.
The last campaign saw Grealish struggle with a multitude of injury problems as well as personal issues off the field after the club’s historic Treble success, culminating in a well-publicised decision from Gareth Southgate to exclude him from England’s Euro 2024 squad.
But Manchester City have reassured that they have no plans to part ways with Jack Grealish, whilst the understanding in various quarters is that manager Pep Guardiola has put an arm around the former Aston Villa captain in a show of faith in his talents.
And now it appears as though the confidence put back into the versatile forward has been repaid back to the club by the player, who has gotten his 2024/25 pre-season training schedule off to a flyer both at the City Football Academy and in the United States.
Jack Grealish is expected to feature heavily in Manchester City’s matches in the United States as Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff look to get the 28-year-old right up to top match sharpness come the start of the competitive season.
Manchester City’s first competitive fixture of the new season will act as the curtain-raiser to the domestic calendar, as they take on FA Cup winners Manchester United in the traditional FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on August 10.
City will then open their account in the Premier League as they look to win a fifth consecutive English top-flight crown by travelling to Chelsea on August 18 for a meeting with Enzo Maresca’s side at Stamford Bridge on the opening weekend of the season.
