Jofra Archer returns to England squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2024
England have announced their squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Defending champions England have brought back Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan, while Phillip Salt has also been included in the squad.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. Defending champions England will be led by Jos Buttler, while Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan have returned to the squad. Phil Salt, who is shining in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, has also got a chance in the team. All the English players participating in the IPL will return for the series against Pakistan starting May 22 at Headingley and then on May 31, the England cricket team will leave for the West Indies, where in Barbados they have to play their T20 World Cup 2024 opening match against Scotland.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 playoffs are scheduled to be played from May 21. This means that England players who are part of the series against Pakistan and the T20 World Cup squad will not be able to take part in the playoffs. Jofra Archer and Chris Jordan are back in the England squad. Uncapped Lancashire left-arm spinner Tom Hartley is also part of the 15-man squad. Chris Jordan coming into the squad in place of Chris Woakes is a bit surprising decision.
