Dunk has been one of Brighton’s top players over the last few years. The defender has played every minute in the league for the Seagulls this season, contributing to 12 clean sheets.
This has helped his side qualify for Europe for the first time in their history.
His displays have prompted calls for a recall to the England national team. The 31-year-old has featured just once for the Three Lions, in a friendly against the United States in 2018.
Dunk’s second appearance could be just around the corner. Manager Gareth Southgate is reportedly considering him for his next squad, which is announced on Wednesday.
England have two more 2024 European Championship qualifiers coming up in June, travelling to Malta before welcoming North Macedonia to Wembley Stadium.
They made the perfect start to their qualifying campaign back in March, defeating Italy and Ukraine.
Southgate could be forced into making several changes to his usual line-up, due to his players’ involvement in European competitions.
West Ham United play in the Europa Conference League final just nine days before England’s clash with Malta, and Manchester City feature in the Champions League final three days later.
This may affect several players. Declan Rice, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips are regulars in the England squad, and Southgate may opt to give them a rest.
Brighton loanee Levi Colwill is also believed to be close to his senior debut. However, the youngster is expected to be selected for the upcoming Under-21 European Championships instead.
