The All England Club has given the LTA its highest surplus payment of £48.8million after posting record financial figures for Wimbledon last year.
Figures revealed in the publication of the club’s annual accounts have confirmed that the championships remain one of Britain’s most lucrative sporting events. Income in 2023 totalled £380.2million, which is up £33.6million on the previous year.
The club’s operating profit comes to £53.8million, an increase of £6.7million. This has resulted in a significant boost for the coffers of the Lawn Tennis Association through a longstanding agreement, under which the governing body of British tennis receives about 90 per cent of the annual profits at Wimbledon.
