British firm AB Mauri is constructing a yeast factory in Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit district. The yeast manufacturing factory with an investment of about Rs 1.5 crore is poised to commence production in 2025. It is also expected to generate employment for about 5,000 individuals. Due to its capability to boost the local economy, the government is also helping to set up the factory.
The Acting Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, Manoj Kumar Singh, conducted an inspection of the under-construction yeast factory, which is located in Bharapachpeda, Amriya tehsil. This visit followed the District Magistrate Sanjay Kumar Singh’s recent review of the site, where he also engaged in a tree plantation drive.
The project’s inception dates back three years when AB Mauri India representatives met with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, proposing the investment. The initiative received support from the Minister of State for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry, Sanjay Singh Gangwar, who advocated for the establishment of a large industry to alleviate unemployment in the district. The Chief Minister’s approval set in motion the land acquisition and other necessary processes by the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Authority.
