The minister highlighted that owing to the president’s inaugural state visits, Indonesia managed to secure investment commitments, with a total value reaching US$18.5 billion.
“This serves as a concrete manifestation of global trust in the economy of Indonesia,” she noted on her Instagram account @smindrawati, as cited in Jakarta on Tuesday.
During his visit to the United Kingdom, the head of state engaged 19 leaders of British companies at the CEO Roundtable Forum on November 21, obtaining promises of investment worth US$8.5 billion in total.
Indrawati assessed that the British business players expressed genuine keenness to place their capital in Indonesia.
She also noted that apart from engaging in talks with CEOs, President Prabowo also made the most of his UK visit to meet with King Charles III, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and British Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner.
In the UK, the Indonesian president was involved in talks revolving around various crucial sectors, such as economy, education, health, fisheries, and defense, the state treasurer added.
Throughout November 8–23, 2024, Prabowo embarked on his first visits to six countries since his presidential inauguration. He started the journey by visiting Beijing, China, where he was received by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Qiang, among others.
He then headed to the United States to meet with his US counterpart, Joe Biden, before flying consecutively to Peru for the APEC Summit, Brazil for the G20 Summit, and the UK for meetings with the British top officials.
On the final chapter of the tour, Prabowo visited Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, to meet with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at the latter’s invitation.
