Shark eBikes, a UK-based e-bike brand, has announced the start of production for its latest bikes – in the United Kingdom.
From its base in Beverley, East Yorkshire, the company is taking a bold step forward to champion British business while continuing to expand its European operations.
In sharing the news the business points out that this move “underscores Shark Bikes’ commitment to supporting local industry, creating jobs, and contributing to the growth of UK-based production capabilities.”
Luke Holroyd, sales and marketing manager at Shark Bikes, said: “We are proud to bring production closer to home. This allows us to deliver high-quality bikes while strengthening the British economy and reducing our environmental footprint by localising production.
“With this step, we are not only making a positive impact locally but also paving the way for greater innovation in our products.”
The UK production initiative will complement Shark Bikes’ European operations, with the exciting release of the ‘Thresher’ full suspension enduro eBike leading the charge.
In addition to these announcements, headlining significant change for the business, Shark Bikes has undergone a slight rebrand, transitioning from ‘Shark eBikes’ to ‘Shark Bikes’.
While the reasons for this change remain under wraps, “enthusiasts can certainly speculate on what this evolution might bring for the Yorkshire-based company.”
Shark Bikes points out that both its UK-assembled models, and the European-built Thresher, will debut ahead of spring 2025.
Shark Bikes has seen “significant success” with its entry-level e-bikes: Tiger, Angel, and Reef, as well as the business moving into European production with its popular Hammerhead and Mako models. “This recent success has created a loyal customer base across the UK and Europe”.
Speaking about the evolution of the business, it is noted that “These models have set the foundation for the brand’s reputation for quality, innovation, and performance.”
