All eyes were on the England Euro 2024 squad.
With the preliminary group of 33 having to be cut to a final 26 man squad and UEFA informed of the names by the close of Friday 7 June at the very latest.
Wednesday night we found out James Maddison wasn’t going to Germany and had left the England camp.
Thursday morning then seeing Liverpool duo Curtis Jones and Jarrell Quansah named across the media as another two omitted.
Then as predicted, fourth keeper James Trafford crossed off the shrinking list.
This left three more to go.
A rash of media reports has seen further names named as missing out and now it appears we have arrived at the final 26.
With The Mail reporting that Jack Grealish, Harry Maguire (injured) and Jarrad Branthwaite complete the list of seven cut from the preliminary squad.
England have a final warm up match to go ahead of the tournament, playing Iceland at Wembley on Friday 7 June.
England are in Group C and will play Serbia on Sunday 16 June, before Slovenia on Thursday 20 June, then the final group game against Denmark on Tuesday 25 June.
The finals run in Germany from 14 June 2024 to the final on 14 July 2024.
Germany will kick off the group matches at the Allianz Arena on that opening day (14 June 2024) when they face Scotland.
The final will be played at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on 14 July 2024.
