Shadow home secretary Yvette Cooper swore live on air during a heated Good Morning Britain debate over the government’s controversial Rwanda Bill.
Presenter Susanna Reid was forced to apologise to viewers after the Labour MP described the Bill as “bat****”, during a live interview on Tuesday (23 April).
After confirming that Labour would scrap the plans if they came into power in the general election this year, Ms Cooper described the policy as a “gimmick”.
She then went on to say: “The home secretary himself has described it as bats***.”
Ms Reid quickly interrupted: “Sorry, we can’t use that word on television.”
Ms Cooper hastily apologised.
