One of the bigger stories to watch over the final weeks of the transfer window is how will Manchester City replace Julian Alvarez. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that it is just a matter of time before the move of Alvarez to Atletico Madrid is confirmed. Now attention has shifted to who will City target to replace the Argentinian international. One name who has been linked with a move to Manchester City is England international Eberechi Eze. Now a new report indicates that the champions are seriously considering moving for Eze.
Steve Kay has reported for footballtransfers.com that Manchester City are seriously considering matching Crystal Palace’s asking price for Eberechi Eze. Kay further reports that City are currently assessing their options as to how to replace Alvarez. Furthermore, Kay reports that Manchester City may not target a striker to replace the World Cup winner. Lastly, Kay adds that City have concrete interest in several high-profile players to add to Pep Guardiola’s squad.
As previously reported earlier this week it did appear that there was a chance Manchester City could target Eberechi Eze to replace Julian Alvarez. The England international does look to be a player who could slot seamlessly into Pep Guardiola’s squad. With his versatility and all-around ability, he could become another match-winner for the world champions. Eze is also a proven Premier League performer which also adds to the case for Manchester City making a move for the playmaker.
It remains to be seen who Manchester City will move for to replace Julian Alvarez. With the transfer window due to close on the 30th of August City will have to move quickly to add to their squad. With that in mind, the case is mounting for the champions to move for Eberechi Eze. As previously mentioned, the England international looks to be a ready-made player for the world champions. It makes sense for the champions to move for the Crystal Palace playmaker. Whether or not City move for Eze is now a story to watch for over the next few weeks.
