Have you ever dreamed of relocating overseas? According to a study by Total Jobs, around 4.5 million Britons are considering moving abroad for a better quality of life.
But while many expats may choose to relocate to save money, they might be shocked by the visa fees in some popular locations.
The expert team at William Russell looked at some of the world’s leading destinations for British expats to find the countries with the most expensive visas. Visa fees are sometimes covered by employers.
According to the research, Australia has the world’s priciest expat visa, coming in at over £1,500. British expats will need to fork out £1,570 for a Temporary Skill Shortage Visa.
To qualify for the visa, Britons will need to be able to fill a position in a field with labour shortages in Australia.
A Temporary Skill Shortage Visa allows Britons to stay in Australia for up to two years or four years in some cases.
The USA, another leading destination for British expats, had the world’s second most expensive visa at £1,351.
Known as an H-1B Visa, non-US citizens are usually able to work in the USA for up to six years.
