Netflix has come under fire after viewers were confronted with ‘low-grade porn’ in its latest drama.
The series broke the ‘last TV taboo’ as one of its main characters revealed his fully erect penis.
It’s thought to be the first time a boner has been fully exposed on a mainstream drama on British TV.
And people aren’t impressed, with everyone from Gogglebox stars to MPs weighing in on the saucy scene.
Netflix’s A Man in Full – based on Tom Wolfe’s best-selling novel of the same name – sees real estate mogul Charlie Croker (Jeff Daniels) defend his empire from those attempting to capitalise on his sudden fall from grace.
Its synopsis on the streaming giant’s website reads: “Facing relentless foes and sudden bankruptcy, an Atlanta real estate tycoon must claw his way back to the top when his empire begins to crumble.”
The six-part series has received generally mixed reviews but its final episode left viewers in shock, featuring a sight that was difficult to ignore.
In the episode, actor Tom Pelphrey’s character – Raymond Peepgrass – has just taken some Viagra. He then drops his bedsheet in front of Croker to reveal… well, everything.

While the show does feature a warning for ‘sex, language, sex reference, sexual images, injury detail,’ it doesn’t give any warning for the scene.
And unsurprisingly, people have had a lot to say about it.
Mary Killen – Gogglebox star and columnist at the Spectator – said: “I don’t want to see graphic sexual images when I’m watching a drama. There is too much already and it is reducing us to no better than barnyard animals.
“Viewers shouldn’t be forced to see pornography. This trend will end in tears as it’s depressing, unmysterious and taking away some of life’s magic.”
Radio 4 contributor Anne Atkins wrote: “Where are the boundaries now, Netflix? A visibly erect penis is not only revolting to many normal viewers but artistically completely unnecessary: a glance down, a raised eyebrow would have done far more.”

And, Tory MP Alexander Stafford said: “If Netflix is serving up this sort of low-grade, pornographic rubbish, we need to give Ofcom full oversight of the streaming giant’s output as soon as possible.”
The scene has highlighted worries about the regulation of streaming services, with concern that children are at risk.
Fellow Tory MP Sara Britcliffe added: “Streaming services are available at any time of day, so watershed protection doesn’t apply.”
And Safe Schools Alliance’s Tanya Carter said: “Yet again we are questioning why the Government is failing to act on this multi-fronted assault on childhood.”
