One former England international has named a Chelsea player as his signing of the summer transfer window and proceeds to compliment the new Blues player.
Chelsea made plenty of signings over the summer window as expected, but so did many other clubs. So for one of the new Chelsea signings to be named as the signing of the window by a former pro is certainly a major positive.
Jadon Sancho had his Chelsea debut on Saturday night, setting up the goal for Christopher Nkunku to score the winner against Bournemouth.
The former Dortmund winger came on at half time and helped Chelsea change the game really because through the most part of this game, they only looked like they were going to be the losing side.
Sancho gave them an instant threat and an instant outlet in attack, and he really looked like he was going to make things happen whenever he got on the ball.
Sancho had a very good debut
Former England goalkeeper David James has been praising Sancho this week.
“My signing of the window has to be Chelsea’s capture of Jadon Sancho. He had a good debut against Bournemouth – looked really lively, and there’s no doubt that there is a player in there.”
Let’s hope Sancho can continue with the bright start he had in a Chelsea shirt and really help them get some success this season. He can certainly be that guy, the talisman, and hopefully take some pressure off Cole Palmer doing that role.
